The Daily Prayer: April 1, 2020

Devotion by Pastor Audrey

April 1, 2020

Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, the breaking of bread and to prayer.

The early Christians were connected to one another through community for support and to grow in their new faith and new way of life. Two thousand years later the same can be said for Christians today. We need each other to help us sustain our faith, but also to deepen our relationship with God and one another.

I love with Kenneth H. Carter, Jr. says about this in his book Pray for me, “We are the body of Christ, the church; we do need one another. We are imperfect individuals who come together to form an imperfect church. But God promises to do something with us if we stay together”.

As a country and a community of faith we’re going through a difficult time right now. And even though we can’t be together physically, we can be united and support each other spiritually. As the early Christians prayed, I invite the people of Central to pray for each other and our world as we together deal with events that are beyond anything we could have imagined. I know that when we do this, as Kenneth Carter has told us, God will honor God’s promise to do something with us and in us.
