Lenten Study - 2017

Dear CUMC friends,

Welcome to the season of Lent for 2017. This year’s Lenten season begins on Ash Wednesday, March 1 and continues for 40 days culminating on Easter Sunday, April 16.

Join me on this journey which provides the church an awesome opportunity to turn toward God as we prepare our hearts for the mystery of Easter. During Lent, it is important for us to model appropriate disciplines so that we understand the meaning of this time of preparation.

Listed throughout this booklet are weekly devotionals. The hope is that these devotions will guide you into times of reflection and renewal during this holy season. Each devotional introduces the weekly Gospel reading, a spiritual discipline, practical ways to practice the spiritual discipline at home, and a prayer. May this be a holy time for you as you get your heart and home ready for the celebration of Easter.
