BUDGET
For
the past several years the annual budget for the local
unit of UMW has been between $4,000 and $4,500 per
year. This money is raised through each member’s
pledge to the UMW plus several fund raisers held throughout
the year. These include bake sales held at Wednesday
Night Live in the spring and fall, the Mother’s
Day bulletin, and the Lifestyles restaurant and entertainment
book that we sell approximately once a year.
This
money is used to support the national UMW (through
our pledges). Monies raised from the fundraisers support
regional mission projects, including the Red Bird
Mission in Kentucky, Wesley House in Knoxville, and
the Holston Home for Children in Greeneville. Local
projects include the Good Samaritan Center, Domestic
Violence Crisis Center, and Child Advocacy group in
Loudon County to name a few.
