"Now
there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;
and there are varieties of services, but the same
Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it
is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.
To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for
the common good."

Corinthians 12:4-7
I
am a native of Lexington, NC, where I was an active
member of First United Methodist Church. I was blessed
with a loving Christian family. My Methodist roots began
early with my grandfather, the Rev. Dr. John Cline,
who served both the Western North Carolina and North
Carolina Conferences. I also have an uncle who is retired
from ministry in the Methodist Church.
In
1982, I received my BA degree in Human Environmental
Science, with a concentration in Interior Design, from
Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. I then embarked on
a career in the furniture industry. It was there I met
my husband, Dick Switzer. In 1985 we married and established
our home in Southern California, where I continued my
furniture career as a manufacturer's representative.
In 1994 we moved to East Tennessee where we live in
the Tellico Village Community with our two dogs, Molly
and Jeffery, and our mccaw, Colonel. I enjoy playing
tennis and am an avid college basketball fan. Although
I enjoy cheering for the Tennessee Vols, my heart belongs
to the Duke University Blue Devils.
Not
long after moving here, I became a member at Central,
and I know this is where the Lord meant for me to be.
What a blessing this church has been to me and my family!
As
Coordinator of Volunteer Ministries, I work with our
Guest Services Team in planning and implementing our
Hospitality ministry. I work with our new members, helping
them to get acquainted with the church and encouraging
them to find a ministry where they can serve. I also
serve as a resource person for our ministry team leaders,
making them aware of persons interested in their ministry
area.
I
am excited about my ministry here at Central and my
goal is to help everyone who walks through our doors
to feel welcome, at home, and a part of The Body of
Christ.
